I will dominate 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
